Conservation Easments

Donate a Conservation Easement

Protect your land in perpetuity while retaining your private property rights.  A conservation easement is a flexible legal agreement between you and NOHLC, an accredited Land Trust, dedicated to protecting your land and its use in perpetuity.  Create peace of mind for both you and your heirs by designating an easement for your property.

Advantages of donating a conservation easement?
  • Preserve your land while retaining property ownership rights and the ability to live on it, sell it, or pass it onto your heirs.
  • Receive a variety of tax benefits for both you and your heirs.
  • They are flexible agreements and may be customized to fit your needs and your partnership with NOHLC.
  • Protect your land in perpetuity, even when the land changes hands.
  • Donate land while you're able to enjoy it or designate it for protection in your will
