In November 2010, when the NOHLC membership voted to reclassify NOHLC as a directorship organization, the Board of Directors made a commitment to develop a means whereby NOHLC members could continue to play a role in the organization’s operation and ensure board accountability. To that end, a Membership Advisory Committee was authorized by the board in May 2011.
Membership Advisory Committee is designed to afford NOHLC members an opportunity to provide advice and guidance to the Board on mission compliance, achieving goals and objectives and make recommendations on proposed budgets, appointment of directors, and Bylaw amendments. The committee would have a minimum of five individuals who are NOHLC members by virtue of having contributed funds or volunteered services in the preceding year, donated lands and/or easements, or hold a “Life Membership.” The Board of Directors is seeking interested NOHLC members to serve on the Membership Advisory Committee. The Committee elects it chairman and will meet at an interval deemed necessary by the committee to accomplish its goals and objectives. Subsequent to the establishment of the initial committee, future committee members will be nominated and elected at an annual membership meeting.
